ADV Offers Replacements for Disc 5 of SMR Box (October 10th, 2003)
A couple of days agi, I posted an article regarding the fixed version of the videl glitch of episode 25 in the first Sailor Moon box. Well just a couple hours ago, ADV has publically acknowledged the audio issue with the Sailor Moon R box. The following is from their website:

We discovered very recently that materials delivered to ADV for episode #67 of Sailor Moon R, found on ADV's initial release of Sailor Moon: Season Two Uncut, contained a four-second audio/video anomaly. ADV has made appropriate adjustments to those materials. Discs produced subsequently will contain the conformed version of the episode for enjoyment as it was intended originally.

To replace your Sailor Moon disc, please go to the ADV Films Merchandise Return Authorization Page and enter the RMA code SMR5 where prompted, as well as the rest of the required information. Once you have finished entering your information, you will be issued a confirmation, and a DVD return form will be sent to you soon. Simply fill out the return form, and return it and your disc to ADV films in the postage pre-paid package included with the return form, and we will send you your new disc shortly.

So there you have it folks, a way to get rid of that dub audio track, and assurance that no more batches with it are being made. It's too bad that these exchanges will only bring the select episodes back up to the bad quality of the rest, but at least changes were made, and that, unlike for the Classic box, ADV is acknowledging the screw up and offering a simple exchange. I can only hope that the exchange method for the first box is changed to this method, so you only have to send the disc itself and not even have to pay for shipping, but let's just be thankful there's any option to fix the discs at all.
